VCA Animal Hospitals Veterinary Assistant in Salinas, California
VCA All Pets Animal Hospital of Salinas is searching for a Veterinary Assistant to join our team!
We are a busy four-doctor practice providing general practice care as well as urgent care and emergency services. We also offer full service grooming and boarding as well!
A successful candidate will be a believer in the possibilities of high quality veterinary medicine and patient care — with the expertise and technical know-how to make them happen.
In this position you will be supporting our full-time and relief Doctors and Veterinary Technicians by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients. Duties will include - but are not limited to:
Maintaining medical records.
Greeting and rooming clients and obtaining medical histories.
Obtaining vital signs on and triaging patients.
Preparing the surgical suite and surgical patients.
Filling prescriptions.
Performing treatments on inpatient and outpatient pets.
Laboratory work and diagnostic imaging.
Composing treatment plans based upon Doctor recommendations for presentations to clients
Providing compassionate care and a home away from home for boarded and hospitalized pets.
Answering client questions.
Discharging patients.
Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness with cleaning duties.
Obtaining payment for rendered services.
Utilizing our Care Club and Home Delivery programs to provide clients with a pace of mind and ease of care.
Maintaining hospital instrumentation and machinery.

Compensation Range: $18.00/hour - $24.00/hour
