VCA Animal Hospitals Veterinary Assistant (VA) - ICW Department in Sacramento, California

We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team at VCA Sacramento Veterinary Referral Center. These positions are for swing or day shifts for Intermediate Care Ward. In our ICW, you will take care of our hospitalized patients from our various specialty departments. You will your patient's advocate for high level care.

The skills that you will be utilizing include, but are not limited to:

  • Be your patient's advocate!

  • Hospitalized Patient Monitoring and Nursing Care

  • IV Catheter Placement

  • Venipuncture and Running Labwork

  • Medication Calculations and Administration

  • Documenting Patient's Vitals and Care Delivery

  • Maintenance of Urinary Catheters, Drain Collection, etc.

  • Recover CPR

The successful candidate will be a believer in the possibilities of high quality veterinary medicine and patient care—with the expertise and technical know-how to make them happen.

VCA Animal Hospitals offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including Medical/Dental/Vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, pet care discounts, paid vacation, holidays and sick days, health and well-being programs that provide resources and training. Compensation is negotiable based on education, experience, and other relevant credentials. The pay range for this position is $17 to $28/ hour.
