VCA Animal Hospitals Veterinary Talent Acquisition Partner in Los Angeles, Massachusetts

Are you passionate about connecting talented professionals with opportunities that make a difference? VCA Animal Hospitals is looking for our next Talent Acquisition Partner to support recruitment efforts for our Emergency and General Practice Hospitals!

As a key player in our recruitment team, you will be responsible for attracting and hiring recent veterinary graduates for our hospitals within the North Atlantic Group. This role blends full lifecycle recruiting with exciting travel opportunities to veterinary school campuses and conferences. You’ll partner with hospital, regional, and group leadership to ensure a seamless and engaging recruitment experience for our candidates.

We are seeking someone with deep knowledge of the veterinary industry and a proven track record in recruiting veterinary professionals. In your first 90 days, you’ll onboard and build strong relationships with Hospital Managers, Medical Directors, Regional Operations Directors (RODs), other field leaders, and the talent acquisition team. Beyond this period, you’ll leverage your experience to connect with veterinary students, creating a robust pipeline of qualified candidates.

Recruiting in the veterinary field is both challenging and rewarding. This role demands proactive sourcing and exceptional communication skills to engage both candidates and hiring managers effectively. You’ll find our hospital field teams to be enthusiastic partners in the recruitment process, and your role will be vital in maintaining and nurturing these valuable relationships.

While this is a remote position, it requires up to 65% travel. The ideal candidate should be based in the Northeast of the United States to facilitate easier travel within the region.

QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

  • At least 3 years of recruiting experience

  • Ability to demonstrate experience with various sourcing tools and technologies

PREFERENCES:

  • Recruiting experience in the Veterinary or Human Healthcare industries

  • Experience with recruiting veterinary students

  • Experience with Workday Recruiter ATS

  • Experience with presenting to large groups of people and engaging with potential candidates both in person and virtually

  • Experience supporting and building relationships with hiring managers

  • Recruiting for multi-site locations

  • A successful candidate will be dynamic, engaged, and invested in supporting their Group

  • An influential thought-leader who can problem-solve and bring new and creative ideas to recruiting roadblocks

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Connect with veterinary students at assigned universities

  • Utilize knowledge of multiple recruiting resources and advanced sourcing techniques to identify talent

  • Schedule in-person and virtual sessions to connect with veterinary students

  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation within the company's ATS

  • Screen applicants for qualifications, availability, interest level, relocation needs, etc.

  • Attend and support recruiting events

  • Manage candidate and hiring manager expectations throughout the recruiting process

  • Maintain networking contacts for sourcing/recruiting future applicants

  • Respond to inquiries from the public and prospective applicants regarding job opportunities and qualifications

  • Promote Employee Referral Program

  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Additional Information

Compensation is negotiable based on education, experience, and other relevant credentials. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $80,000-$100,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
