VCA takes pride in expanding the growth and skill set of new veterinarians. We welcome newly graduated veterinarians (and current veterinary students) to apply to this position where they will receive individualized support with our 6-month mentorship program and a collaborative hospital team environment.
We are a well-established well-equipped facility with a highly skilled support staff. We currently provide veterinary care for dogs and cats. In addition to wellness exams, we offer vaccinations and preventive care. We also provide digital x-ray, digital dental x-ray, dentals and surgical procedures. We have a relationship with and internist who provides in house ultrasounds and consultations with a rapid turnaround time.
We open at 8:00am six days a week, and are open until 5:00pm on Wednesday and Friday, 6:00pm on Monday and Thursday, 7:00pm on Tuesday and 2:00pm on Saturday. We have emergency hospitals in the area that we refer to after hours if necessary.
VCA Hawthorn Animal Hospital is located on US HWY 45 in Vernon Hills, IL about 37 miles from Chicago. We are just south of the Illinois/Wisconsin border and are surrounded by quaint little towns such as Libertyville, Long Grove and Lincolnshire which plays host to a performing arts theatre. We are 20 minutes from Six Flags amusement park in Gurnee. As you can see, there is plenty to do in our area!
