We are seeking a talented Veterinary Technician to join our progressive, well-established five-doctor small animal practice full time. We also see exotics and work with the animals from the local wolf preserve! Our hospital is located in Blairstown, NJ, a semi-rural town in beautiful Northwest New Jersey providing easy access via Interstate 80 to New York City (one hour) to the east and the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania (1/2 hour) to the west.
We are an AAHA certified, full service, computerized practice (paperless) with in-house blood machines, ultrasound, digital x-ray, monitoring equipment, high speed dental unit, dental x-ray, laser therapy and more, and we are committed to providing the highest quality care to our patients. We have a large surgery and dentistry caseload along with many medicine cases. We utilize our vet techs in all areas of the hospital. Our techs are fluent in anesthesia, dentistry, laboratory work, nursing skills, etc., and pursuit of special interests by the technicians is not only supported but encouraged!

As a member of the VCA team, you will support Technician and Doctor teams by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients. Your mission will be to win the confidence of every pet parent—by delivering an outstanding client experience—so we can provide exceptional care to every patient. You’ve worked hard for your credentials (CVT, RVT, LVT) and we want you to use the knowledge that you’ve invested your time and talent in. The skills that you will be utilizing include, but are not limited to:
Compassionate care of our hospitalized animals
Physical examinations and patient assessment
Anesthesia Monitoring
Surgical preparation and assisting
Dentistry
Radiology
Laboratory work
Venipuncture
Catheter placement
Pharmacy
Patient Recovery
Cleaning and maintaining hospital premises and communal areas
Stocking treatment areas with medical equipment and supplies
Assisting our doctors, technicians and other team members
Assisting doctors in rooms during appointments, taking patient histories, creating estimates
Evening and weekend hours are part of the schedule. The salary range for this position is commensurate with experience.
