VCA Animal Hospitals Specialty Hospital Manager in Bedford Hills, New York

Must have strong communication and HR skills, along with extensive understanding of and proven success in business management. The candidate must be a leader who is resourceful and able to cultivate and manage relationships with staff, doctors and clients, as well as prioritize and efficiently multi-task. Strong attention-to-detail and the ability to coordinate, motivate, and train others is required. The right candidate will have experience in creating and developing teams and transitioning culture. Experience in business development and growth required.

The Hospital Manager, under the guidance of the Regional Management team and with the support of and input from the Medical Director—performs a wide range of administrative activities related to the hospital. The Hospital Manager mentors the staff and oversees the business operations, the quality of patient care and client service, and facility maintenance and ensures business growth and profitable operation of the practice.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree OR CVPM preferred

• Experience with HR, employee counseling, coaching and mentoring

• Extensive customer service knowledge

• Financial budget development, management and analysis

• Knowledgeable in effective marketing techniques and strategy

• Public Speaking with the ability to influence a diverse range of audiences and groups

• Proven ability to make decisions, delegate responsibility and achieve results

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop the veterinary, technical and administrative staff towards the goal of quality patient care and excellent client service.

• Oversee the hiring, reviewing and coaching of staff, in accordance with and with the approval of the Regional Management team.

• Responsible for hospital budgets, operating expenses, business growth, charge capturing, forecasting and P&L review.

  • Establish and uphold hospital and VCA protocols, policies and procedures.

  • Institute and support company initiatives and philosophy

  • Positively represent the hospital and actively participate in building relationships with the local professional community and general public. This will require meeting/ event planning and attendance at night and weekend events as well as some travel.• Develop and implement marketing strategies including but not limited to social media, constant contact, community events and continuing education programs
